Countermeasures for airport aviation UAV

Industry demand and background:

In recent years, aviation disturbance caused by "black flight" and "random flight" of civil UAVs has occurred frequently at airports around the world:

On the eve of Christmas in December 2018, London Gatwick Airport, the second largest airport in the UK, was forced to close for nearly 36 hours due to unmanned aerial vehicles flying into the runway. Within 24 hours alone, 50 UAVs were found to have flown into the airport runway. The incident caused nearly 1000 flights and more than 100000 passengers to be affected, and the authorities even had to call the air force to take precautions;

In June 2020, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport was invaded by drones, which caused the airport to be suspended for nearly 2 hours, resulting in multiple flight delays and alternate flights.

Relevant tests show that a 400g UAV can smash the windshield of a helicopter; A 2kg UAV can cause "serious damage" to the windshield of a passenger aircraft. Even the smallest UAV may damage the aircraft rotor or get involved in the engine and cause serious consequences.

Whether civil aircraft or military aircraft, their airport takeoff and landing process needs a certain range of "clearance" to protect, so as to ensure flight safety. However, in recent years, a large number of UAVs have been able to enter the airport "clearance" management area without restriction at any time, causing aviation insecurity incidents and bringing huge losses to the aviation industry.

Solution:

Our fixed deployment equipment can be used for the long-term deployment plan, and is applicable to the situation that the scope of airport defense and control remains basically unchanged for a long time. Generally, the scope of clearance protection is determined in the airport planning, so most of the cases are applicable to the fixed deployment plan except for the airports constructed by stages. The deployment plan usually adopts the central deployment method. The defense system is installed in the central position of the protected area to achieve the maximum expected protection range. The system mainly adopts the strategy of multi-station positioning radio equipment. When the UAV is found, the pilot of the UAV will be located, and the strategy of combining the directional interference disposal equipment with the portable interference gun will be used in cooperation with the airport public security. Under the control of the command and control software, the target of the UAV will be subject to directional electronic interference, blocking the signal transmission link, making the jammed UAV return or forced landing, catching the pilot, and confiscating the flight tools.
